Anna-Jaël was born in Germany but spent much of her early life in Sebastopol, California. She attended UC Berkeley and holds degrees in fine art and sociology.
Her curiosity informs her approach to design, and she brings it into her work through the use of color and imaginative details. She draws inspiration from modernism, Italian rationalism, and Northern California architecture of the 1960s.
Currently, she resides in Portland, Oregon, and works on projects both locally and abroad. In her freetime she runs a secret food blog and enjoys traveling to architects' homes and studios.
